CHAMP Member News Flashes
Windrydr News ~ New ~ Tyler went Select both Fri. & Sun. at the conformation shows down in Doswell, VA this weekend. That Select on Sun. was a "major" one. He now has all 3 majors & all wins against another Ch, and only needs 6 pts. for his GRAND CH. In other news, his 1/2 sister Ashley received her BRONZE level Grand Ch in the mail recently. You get both a certificate & a small bronze medallion that can be used as a necklace. That Bronze level requires 100 pts. -- & Selects, & Best Opposite Sex do count. She ended the year 16th in Achievement pts. for that Bronze level. She also ended up 27th in overall Breed pts. -- & only Best of Breeds count toward that. She made it ALOT further than I told Fred she'd get with getting into the "fray" so late last year. Oh, & if the standings held from Oct. to Dec. (haven't seen the latest stats), she also was #1 in Rally Excellent-B. ~ Previous ~ Tyler FINALLY finished his AKC Championship this past weekend near Saratoga, NY with back-to-back 2 very allusive majors! And since there were no Specials, he was Best of Breed too. He was moved up to Specials on Sunday & went Best of Breed again. He had to be absent a whole lot last year & this year so far too when there either weren't majors or they broke. The weekend before he got a major Reserve at the Roanoke/Salem show, so he was building up to it. Now we've gotta work on his CD. This was Fred's dream come true, finally! His first home-bred champion! Tyler is now: CH, UGRCH, UAGII, UR01, Windryder's Full Throttle, FCH, SC, RN, NA, NAJ, OJP, NAP, CGC, TT
I'm proud to report that Whippet Missss. Ashley earned her AKC GRAND CH title 2 weekends ago at the Howard County shows! And her Rally Excellent title from AKC arrived in the mail! She was Best of Breed on Thursday at the Catoctin KC but there was 1 bitch missing to gain the major she needed. She was awarded a 'major' Select on Friday.at the Northeastern Maryland Kennel Club to finish her Grand Champion with Russella Wilkerson handling her!

Pony owned by Brigitte Greenburg - New FC !! Living up to her name, the Pony Express has taken the field by storm. At the age of 20 months and in just six trials, Pony has earned her AKC field championship.
She was awarded the final points toward her title on November 28, 2009, in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Her second major came on September 19, 2009 at a trial in Knoxville, Maryland. Her speed, drive and agility have been something to behold.
Pony won a stunning 5-point major at her very first trial on August 23, 2009, just weeks after earning her Junior Courser title. She was just 17 months old at the time. Her fearlessness and energy are, in a word, breathtaking. Photos by Terri Kieffer
Windryder News Holly finished her AG2 agility at my two clubs' (MKC-DGOTC) UKC trials. Tyler finished his AG1 agility title, FINALLY. And I've figured out the secret to getting sits on the pause table---hose him down before the run. Sat. he was awful (didn't bring the sprayer), and Sun. he was sitting quickly! I had a totally different dog to run on Sun. than I did Sat. No, I didn't give him uppers, just used the water sprayer!
Holly finishing her UKC AG2 Agility title and Tyler finishing his UKC AG1
Agility title! And my biggest brag is that Ashley finished her CHAMPIONSHIP in Fletcher, NC with a 4 pt. major with one of her handlers, Russella Wilkerson.

Puppies were whelped 5/3/09 at CHAMPs AKC lure trial, at Oatlands Plantation, Leesburg, VA. Cabela, "Licketysplit Cabela O'Kindred JC" went into labor while the trial was in progress. Assuming the start would be just pre-labor stages, quickly it was evident there was no time to drive home! Seven puppies were born in two hours. There were five girls and two boys.
